Lead Poisoned Eagle

This mature bald eagle was admitted on March 21, 2018. She was found grounded, exhibiting signs of neurological issues and covere in some kind of organic oil or grease.

She was examined and blood was drawn to test or lead. The lead level was quite high which explained the neurological symptoms. We also took x-rays to see if there was any lead remaining in her digestive tract and for any broken bones.

She was treated for lead and moved into the Big Jeezley for flight conditioning. She is ready to be returned to the wild any day now.

How to Spot Her – she has a dark patch of feathers on her face.
