Goldfinch

This is one of a group of 5 American Goldfinch nestlings that was rescued from a group of children. The birds were being tossed back and forth and the children were about to play baseball with them when they were rescued by another child. One bird died shortly after admission to CWRC. The remaining 4 birds thrived under care at CWRC and were released into an established flock of goldfinches at CWRC. Minutes later they were seen feeding at niger seed feeders and were immediately accepted by the local birds.
